2008 SYMANTEC “SUBORBITAL FLIGHT” DRAWING (“Drawing”)

OFFICIAL RULES

OPEN ONLY TO VERIFIED WINNERS OF THE 2008 SYMANTEC “BLAST OFF WITH NORTON” DRAWINGS AND THOSE INVITED BY SPONSOR TO PARTICIPATE. VOID ELSEWHERE, AND WHEREVER PROHIBITED BY LAW.

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE DOES NOT IMPROVE CHANCE OF WINNING.

ELIGIBILITY: Open only to verified winners of the 2008 Symantec “Blast Off With Norton” drawings and those invited by Sponsor to participate who are the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence. Employees, directors and officers of Symantec Corporation (“Sponsor”), its subsidiaries, dealers, retailers, advertising, fulfillment, judging and promotion agencies, including Parago, Inc. (”Administrator”) (collectively, “Drawing Parties”), and their immediate family members (parent, child, sibling and spouse of each) and those living in their same households of each are not eligible. Winner must be medically fit to participate in suborbital flight as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion. Void where prohibited.

PROMOTION PERIOD:

Verified winners of the 2008 Symantec “Blast Off With Norton” drawing (except Japan winner) and those invited to participate by Sponsor (“U.S. Entrants”): Promotion begins on February 21, 2009 at 12:00:01 a.m. Central Standard Time (“CST”) and ends February 21, 2009 at 11:59:59 p.m. CST (the “U.S. Promotion Period”). The drawing Sponsor’s time clock is the official clock for this Promotion.

Verified winner of Japan “Blast Off With Norton” Drawing (“Japanese Entrant”): Promotion begins on January 1, 2009 at 12:00:01 a.m. Japan Time (“GMT + 9”) and ends February 21, 2009 at 11:59:59 p.m. GMT + 9 (“Japan Promotion Period”). The drawing Sponsor’s time clock is the official clock for this Promotion.

TO ENTER:

U.S. Entrants: During the U.S. Promotion Period, U.S. Entrants must complete and submit a paper or online entry form as provided by Sponsor. Limit one entry per eligible entrant.

Japanese Entrant: During the Japan Promotion Period, the one (1) Japanese entrant selected by Sponsor in the Japan Blast Off With Norton Sweepstakes must complete the Official On-line Entry Form, available at http://japan.norton.com/space/ (“Web Site”) with all information requested, including the name, address, home phone number, and e-mail address, and date of birth of the entrant. In order for entry to be valid, Japanese Entrant must complete all required information and click on the “I accept” button on the Web Site. Entry must be received no later than 11:59:59 p.m. GMT+9 on February 21, 2009.

Drawing Parties assume no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, stolen, mutilated, illegible, undelivered, garbled, damaged, incomplete entries or submissions, or for any computer, online, telephone or technical malfunctions that may occur. Drawing Parties also assume no responsibility for any technical problems in connection with transmission or receipt of online entries including faulty electronic data transmission, traffic congestion on the Internet or on the web site, hardware or software error, equipment failure or malfunction, or other online communications problems. All online entrants must have a valid email address. In the event of a dispute regarding the identity of the person submitting an online or electronic entry, entries will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized account holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an Internet Access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. All entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned to entrant. Automated entries (including but not limited to entries made using any script, macro, bot, or drawing service) and facsimiles are not allowed. For online entrants, potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the e-mail address associated with the winning entry.

WINNER SELECTION: Winner will be selected in a random drawing to take place on or about [date] by an independent judging organization (“Judge”), whose decisions are final and binding on all matters related to the drawing. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received but in no case will be less than 1 in 33. Potential winner will be notified by mail. If any prize correspondence (including e-mail) is returned as non-deliverable, prize may be forfeited. Potential winners are subject to verification, including verification of age and medical fitness as determined by Sponsor. Prior to being verified as a prize winner, selected Entrant must also provide medical information or undergo a medical examination as required by Sponsor in its sole discretion to confirm medical fitness to undergo the suborbital flight. If in Sponsor’s sole discretion, potential winner is determined not to be medically fit to participate in the suborbital flight, Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify the potential winner and may award the prize to an alternate in its discretion. Potential winner will also be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within five (5) days of attempted notification or prize may be forfeited.

PRIZES: The one (1) verified winner will receive one (1) suborbital flight (“Suborbital Flight”) on a date to be determined by Sponsor (“Prize”).

Suborbital Flight: Prize includes round-trip, coach class air transportation for one (1) from verified Winner’s country of residence to launch city; one (1) standard hotel room for two (2) nights/three (3) days; ground transportation to and from the airport; ground transportation to and from the Suborbital Flight launch facility; and meals. Approximate retail value (“ARV”) up to $170,000USD, depending upon winner's point of travel origin and airfare fluctuations at the time of taking the trip. Any differences between stated and actual value will not be awarded. Selection of launch and travel dates, departure airport, airline and hotel are solely within Sponsor’s discretion. All other expenses not specifically mentioned herein are solely the winner’s responsibility. All travel must be taken on dates determined by Sponsor; no alternative travel dates are available or prize will be forfeit. All travel subject to availability and restrictions. Winner must sign and return a travel release before any ticketing of travel occurs. Winner must have all necessary identification and/or travel documents (e.g., a valid state issued driver’s license, passport, etc) required for travel to and from launch city. (Approximate Retail Value: $170,000 USD).

No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prize is permitted except at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with another prize of equal or greater value at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Any portion of the prize not accepted by winner shall be forfeited.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Winner is solely responsible for any taxes on Prize. Sponsor reserves the right to require tax withholding payments with respect to the prize. By participating, Entrants agree to these Official Rules, Sponsor’s Privacy Policy (available at http://www.symantec.com/about/profile/policies/privacy.jsp) and to the Judge’s decisions, which are final and binding in all respects. If for any reason the drawing is not capable of running as planned, including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the drawing, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process, and to cancel, modify or terminate the drawing and select the winner from all eligible entries received prior to the cancellation or termination. This drawing is offered only in the United States and Japan and is governed by the laws of the state of California, with venue in Santa Clara County, California, and all claims must be resolved in the federal or state courts of Santa Clara County, California.

LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY AND RELEASE: By accepting the prize, Winner agrees that the Drawing Parties, participating retailers, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by winner against, any liability for injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the drawing; from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of any prize; or from participation in any prize-related activity or any travel related thereto, including, but not limited to the Suborbital Flight. BY ACCEPTING PRIZE, WINNER ACCEPTS THE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS NATURE AND RISK IN BEING A PASSENGER ON A SUBORBITAL FLIGHT, INCLUDING PERSONAL INJURY AND/OR DEATH, ACKNOWLEDGES THAT HIS/HER PARTICIPATION IN THE PRIZE EVENTS IS VOLUNTARY, ACKNOWLEDGES THAT THERE ARE NATURAL FACTORS AND OCCURRENCES WHICH MAY IMPACT ON OR AFFECT THE SAFETY OF THE ACTIVITIES HE/SHE IS PARTICIPATING IN AND HE/SHE ASSUMES THE RISK OF SUCH FACTORS AND OCCURRENCES AND AGREES THAT DRAWING PARTIES SHALL NOT BE IN ANY WAY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY RESULTING INJURY AND/OR DEATH. Except if winner is a resident of TN or where prohibited by law, Winner grants (and agrees to confirm this grant in writing, if requested) permission for Sponsor and those acting under its authority to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, for advertising and/or publicity purposes in any and all media now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without additional compensation.
